Position Announcement:Ontario Convention CenterOntario, CA POSITION: Sous ChefREPORTS TO: Executive Chef/Director of Food & BeverageFLSA STATUS: Full Time, Exempt SMG, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Sous Chef at the OntarioConvention Center. The Sous Chef manages subordinates' activities and directs and coordinates chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers engaged in preparing and cooking foods by performing the below listed duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Schedules and supervises kitchen employees.Coordinates and directs training of cooks, and other kitchen workers engaged in the preparing and cooking foods to ensure high quality, efficient and profitable food service.Interacts directly with kitchen staff for all cleaning and setup required in the department.Orders, receives, and prepares food items.Attends in-house event-related meetings and relays changes with other departments.Assists with monthly inventory.Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:Successful candidates will possess at least four years culinary experience in a banquet facility producing meals for large events; must be Serve-safe certified or have a San Bernardino County Food Handler's Certificate and be able to adhere to Health Department codes.
